Immunizations

Vaccines help develop the body’s ability to fight the germs which cause certain infectious diseases.  The best defense against preventable infectious disease, is vaccination.  Newman Memorial Hospital offers an Immunization Clinic with appointments available Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 4:00 and Friday from 8:30 to noon for infants and children up to 18 years of age.

The VFC (Vaccines for Children) Program is a federally funded program that provides vaccines to children who might not otherwise be vaccinated because of inability to pay.  These vaccines are available and distributed at Newman Memorial Hospital’s Immunization Clinic.

Did you know that over 90% of cervical cancer is linked to HPV (Human Papillomavirus)? Protect your child from cervical cancer with the HPV vaccine. Recommendations are that all girls and boys age 9-26 get the HPV vaccine. If you can’t afford to get your child vaccinated, VFC may help. Please see the program details above.
